Latter Day Heartbreaks are the inaugural Llama Records musical act, formed in 2022 by longtime friends and collaborators Luis Santoyo (of Jean Mors) and Robbie Arroyo. Throughout the rest of that year, in anticipating the launch of Llama Records, the duo recorded their “Quick, Before the Atrophy!” LP, which brought together a diverse mixture of compositions, the results of which were released on January 23, 2023. The album featured guest vocal performances by Natalie Sumitra (tracks 4 and 10).

Recording for the second LDH record began soon after the release of Atrophy, and in June 2023 This Used to Drive Me Crazy was released. If the charm of the first album lies in its stylistic variation and its juxtaposition of rarely-combined forms, that of the second can be found on the other end of this spectrum — in its stylistic cohesion and through its compositional adherence to the established traditions of American Country & Western music. San Jose artist Wolf Tijuana contributed a guest vocal on the album’s closing track, Activating Christ. Additional assistance came from friend and labelmate Daniel (The MoonlightVision / Under the Moonlight), who aided in the preparation of a video consisting of realtime audiovisual playback of a vinyl pressing the full album.

Latter Day Heartbreaks are currently working on new music, set for release by the end of the 2024 calendar year.
