After achieving success in the electronic music world with his project Kroyclub, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Luis Santoyo shifted gears and created Jean Mors in 2013.

Over the remainder of the decade he released three Jean Mors LP’s — Hasbian, Oppose People’s Knowledge, and a self-titled album, each succeeding with its own distinct approach to composition and production.

In addition to compiling this recorded output and performing at various venues across Southern California, Luis has done production for other musicians, including fellow Los Angeles artists Box Dreams and Ariel Pink. He also co-founded the Latter Day Heartbreaks duo, a project which itself yielded two LP’s in 2023.

Jean Mors has returned in 2024 with a surplus of new material. The Join My Cult!! EP (released February) is a five-track set of synthesizer-driven songs ranging from the atmospheric to the melodic, from the rhythmic to the avant-garde.

The full-length Stones (released in May) features an array of expansive ensemble pieces, both vocal and instrumental. Pairing textured wind and string arrangements with classical guitar work, swirling Hammond organ, steel guitar, theremin, and much more, Stones is a record as innovative as it is refined.
